Mayan Site Near San Ignacio

Cahal Pech is a Mayan site near the town of San Ignacio, not far from Belize’s border with Guatemala. The canopy is somewhat thick across most of the property, so the volume of sunlight coming through the trees here is atypical, most of the property is bathed  in shade or shadow. This shows a nice exampleof a “Mayan Arch” which is a pseudo-arch common in Mayan architecture. The bright green moss enveloping stone is another common feature of the site.
